The arrival of spring and summer attracts aphids and other pests

Almost all farmers have suffered in their farms an attack of aphids. It is one of the most common pests. The plague of aphids is accompanied by a plague of ants that become their allies and defenders in front of their predators.

There are different types of aphids, the best known is the green aphid, which attacks the most common vegetables such as tomatoes, lettuce and peppers. They also attack fruit trees, citrus fruits, such as lemon, orange and roses, so we can say that the aphid adapts to all types of vegetables, whether ornamental plants, fruit trees, horticultural plants, and also in weeds.

How could the plague be detected?

With the arrival of spring, it is convenient to observe our plants, since it is a common pest in spring and summer.

We can see the aphids, but we can also see the rolled and sticky leaves, especially the tender and young shoots that they prefer more.

To eliminate the aphids it is convenient to eliminate the weeds, since they use it to take refuge. If you detect the attack of the aphid in its first stages and it is a weak attack, the leaves and the damaged buds can be cut.

How could we strengthen plants against attacks? 

A natural and efficient solution to strengthen the plant is essential to reduce the damage caused by this type of pests. Modern agriculture, environment and society are demanding an alternative to chemicals for the control of pests and diseases of crops.
